Terms of Service

1. Introduction

These Terms of Service govern your use of GeoHunter, an open-source online geography guessing game operated by Artur Ferreira. By using GeoHunter, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use GeoHunter.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use GeoHunter. If you are under the age required to use online services in your location, you may use GeoHunter only with permission from a parent or guardian.

3. Accounts and Security

GeoHunter uses Clerk for authentication, supporting Google and email sign-in. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your credentials secure.

You may not share, sell, transfer, or misuse accounts. GeoHunter may restrict, suspend, or terminate accounts used for abuse, cheating, or violations of these Terms.

You may request deletion of your account by contacting support@geohunter.io.

4. License to Use

GeoHunter grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable permission to access and use the service for lawful gameplay. The source code is available under the MIT license. Branding and service operation remain under the control of the operator.

5. User Content

User content includes display names, avatars, and any information you submit. You may not submit content that is illegal, hateful, harassing, or otherwise abusive. GeoHunter may remove or moderate user content at any time.

6. Fair Play

You may not cheat, use bots, scripts, location-hint tools, external databases during matches, or otherwise gain an unfair advantage. You may not tamper with game state, network traffic, or matchmaking systems.

7. Third-Party Services

GeoHunter uses Clerk for authentication and Google Maps Embed API for Street View gameplay. These services have their own terms and privacy policies. GeoHunter is not responsible for third-party services.

8. Paid Features

GeoHunter does not currently offer paid features. If paid features are introduced in the future, they will be subject to additional terms presented at the time of purchase.

9. Service Availability

GeoHunter may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time. The service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, GeoHunter and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

11. Changes

These Terms may be updated from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new date. Continued use means you accept the updated Terms.
